Creating your vision doesn’t have to be daunting.

I used to think that having a vision is such a daunting goal.

I thought that it had to be this big, overwhelming thing—like the heavy, corporate vision statements that many companies have. But the more I dived deeper into my own brand and business, the more I work with coaches and communities around me, I realized that no, it doesn't have to be that way.

A vision doesn't have to be perfect and complicated.

It doesn't have to include all the jargons and big words for it to work. What's important is that your vision represents where you want to be, what you want to do, and how you want to feel. It is an intentional journey of solidifying what it is that you're working towards.

You're allowed to take your time and you don't have to know all the answers.

The reality is, sometimes clarifying your vision takes time. I think of it as a puzzle piece—every piece and effort is something that you work towards.

Maybe right now you don't know yet what you want to see happen for your personal life and business in five or ten years. And that's okay. Even if you can't envision that far ahead yet, I'm sure you have things you want to see happen now. Things you want to have, prioritize, and feel—like having a balanced lifestyle, being healthy, and experiencing joy in your work.

These are the things that I consider as puzzle pieces, because vision doesn't have to be this overwhelming thing. It can look like small things that you want to work towards, that later on 5 years from now will come together as one big vision when you look back and put the pieces together.

You can start from where you are.

Let's imagine you wanting to buy a house. You're not sure about how it should look like, how much it should cost, or where it should be located. But... you can probably think of things you want to do in the house—like spending a lot of time together with your family.

You can probably describe that you wouldn't want to be in debt when you buy it and that you want the house to feel peaceful. These things don't directly tell us what the house will look like, but the feelings and activities help us envision what house might fit those things.

This perspective applies to your brand and business too. If you want a joyful culture, then you would only collaborate with business partners and clients who embody joy. If you want a life where you can spend a lot of time with family, then your business has to have flexible hours and workload. Even though these things look like small, simple, everyday goals, but they still make up this big picture of the kind of life you want to live.

Your vision is something that will keep driving you forward with purpose and joy.

Your vision isn't there to make you feel more overwhelmed or pressured, but it's there to help you stay fulfilled and passionate about what you do. It keeps you excited to wake up every single day to show up for your brand and business! And the process of solidifying this vision can happen through small, baby steps. Like asking this one simple question today:

How do you want to feel everyday when you wake up to go to work?
